Trainer named Dominion winner

Phyllis Shetron, a trainer who is a founding member of the Finger Lakes Thoroughbred Adoption Program and an advocate for backstretch workers, has been named the 2007 winner of the Dogwood Dominion Award by the Dogwood Stable syndicate. The award, for an "unsung hero" in racing, will be presented in Saratoga Springs, N.Y., on Aug. 1.
