Off the Tracks headed for Test

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – Off the Tracks, the winner of the Grade 1 Mother Goose in her last start, will run in Saturday’s Grade 1, $500,000 Test Stakes for 3-year-old fillies at seven furlongs, trainer Todd Pletcher said Sunday.
Off the Tracks also was under consideration for the Grade 1 Alabama at 1 1/4 miles on Aug. 20.
“She’s ready to run now,” Pletcher said. “She had success around one turn sprinting before. Felt like right now, at this moment, it’s a more logical play than waiting on the mile and a quarter.”
Last Friday, Off the Tracks worked a slow half-mile in 52.16 seconds over the main track.
“We didn’t feel like we needed a lot of training,” Pletcher said. “She ran very well from the Acorn to the Mother Goose without having a breeze, and wanted to go alone and not overdo it and hopefully have her fresh going into the Test.”
Pletcher said he is considering entering Kinsley Kisses, third in the Delaware Oaks last out, in the Test. Others considered definite are Kareena, Lewis Bay, Lightstream, and Paola Queen.
