Top TV officials leaving Magna

Two top officials for Magna Entertainment's television division are leaving the company. Bill Bridgen, the president of the Magna-owned HorseRacing TV, and Greg Lewis, a consultant based in Vail, Colo., who worked with cable and satellite companies to gain distribution for the channel, are leaving, Magna's chief executive, Jim McAlpine, said Thursday.

McAlpine said that Bridgen would act as an adviser for several months before pursuing other opportunities. He said that other employees at Magna likely would fill the roles affected by the departures.

McAlpine said the departures will not affect the availability or direction of HorseRacing TV.

"We're reexamining all our business units to make sure they are being run in the most efficient manner," McAlpine said.

The station carries live racing broadcasts from all of Magna's racetracks, including Santa Anita and Gulfstream.
