Top three return in Longhorn Futurity

The top three finishers in the 11th of 12 trials will return after racing to the top three qualifying times in the Grade 1, $185,440 Longhorn Futurity at Manor Downs on Saturday afternoon.

Baja Jazz won that trial by a half-length in 15.656 seconds for 300 yards, while Pac N Zoom and Tequila Sunryse also qualified.

The Grade 2, $125,310 Longhorn Derby on Sunday afternoon features fastest qualifier Texas Version and the classy Pool.

Texas Version, third in last year's Ford New Mexico Juvenile Challenge behind Pappasito, won his Longhorn Derby trial by three-quarters of a length in 17.975 seconds for 350 yards.

Pool was a force in Texas last year with wins in the Grade 2 TQHA Sires Futurity and the Grade 3 Ford Texas Juvenile Challenge. He was a close second in the Grade 1, $1 million Texas Classic Futurity.
