SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – Excellent Truth and She Feels Pretty, separated by a head in the Grade 1 Diana on July 12, will be going their separate ways for their next starts.
Excellent Truth, who gave trainer Chad Brown his record 10th victory in the Diana, will make her next start in the Grade 1, $750,000 E.P. Taylor on Aug. 16 at Woodbine. Brown preferred the timing and the 1 1/4-mile distance of the E.P. Taylor – held last year in September – to Saratoga’s Ballston Spa, a 1 1/16-mile race that was moved up on the calendar and will be run Friday, and the Flower Bowl, a three-turn race here Aug. 30.
Meanwhile, She Feels Pretty, who had a four-race winning streak – three of which were Grade 1s – snapped in the Diana, will make her next start in the Grade 2, $500,000 Flower Bowl. Trainer Cherie DeVaux said she wants to run She Feels Pretty in the 1 3/8-mile race as a prep for the Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Turf, which will be run at the same distance Nov. 1 at Del Mar.
