Top Decile eyes Silverbulletday Stakes

NEW ORLEANS – Top Decile, the runner-up in the Alcibiades and Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies, will open her 2015 campaign in the Silverbulletday on Jan. 17 at Fair Grounds, trainer Al Stall Jr. said Wednesday.
On Tuesday, Top Decile worked a half-mile in 48.20 seconds, her third workout at Fair Grounds. She’ll work twice more before the Silverbulletday, Stall said.
Mike Smith will replace the retired Rosie Napravnik as Top Decile’s jockey, Stall said.
Buena Vista possible for La Tia
Trainer Armando De La Cerda said he’s thinking about running the Grade 1-winning turf mare La Tia next in the Grade 2 Buena Vista Stakes on Feb. 16 at Santa Anita. La Tia hasn’t raced since winning the Grade 1 Matriarch on Nov. 30 at Del Mar.
“She’s doing really good,” De La Cerda said Wednesday.
La Tia has been based at Fair Grounds since the Matriarch. De La Cerda said he scheduled her for a workout Saturday. She worked five furlongs Dec. 16 (1:04) and Dec. 23 (1:05).
