Tom's Tribute switching California stud farms

Grade 1 winner Tom’s Tribute will relocate to Rancho San Miguel in San Miguel, Calif., for the 2018 breeding season and will stand for an advertised fee of $2,000.

The 7-year-old son of Lion Heart previously stood at Magali Farms in Santa Ynez, Calif., where he recently completed his second season at stud. He stands as property of DP Racing.

Tom’s Tribute won six of 16 starts for earnings of $634,880. A successful turf miler, his biggest victories included the Grade 1 Eddie Read Stakes, the Grade 2 Del Mar Mile Handicap. He placed in three graded stakes, including a third in the Grade 1 Shoemaker Mile.

Bred in Kentucky by Laura and Ouisha McKinney, Tom’s Tribute is out of the stakes-placed El Prado mare Halloween Fun, who is the dam of three winners from five foals to race. He is from the extended family of Group 2-placed Brace Blu.
