Tommy Jo, a two-time Grade 1 winning 2-year-old filly of 2025, is getting closer to her 3-year-old debut, which, provided all goes well, will take place in the Grade 3, $225,000 Victory Ride Stakes here on July 10.  On Friday, Tommy Jo worked a half-mile in 47.90 seconds, the second-fastest of 52 works at the distance and her third breeze since returning to trainer Todd Pletcher’s barn earlier this year.  Tommy Jo won the Grade 1 Spinaway and was put up to first in the Grade 1 Alcibiades at Keeneland. She ended her 2-year-old campaign with a fifth-place finish in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies.  She was sidelined earlier in the year due to bone bruising.  Pletcher said the Victory Ride and the Grade 1 Test on Aug. 8 are the first two objectives, Pletcher said.  “I’m not convinced she won’t stretch out, but the short-term goals are a couple of spring races and hope that goes well,” Pletcher said.  :: Want to learn more about handicapping and wagering?
