Tom Seaver claim reversed
A $20,000 claim submitted for the 5-year-old gelding Tom Seaver at Santa Anita on April 17 has been voided because of a medication violation, according to a recent ruling published by the Horseracing Safety and Integrity Authority.
Tom Seaver tested positive for the anti-inflammatory diclofenac, according to the ruling.
Tom Seaver, a winner of 3 of 7 starts, finished last of eight in an 6 1/2-furlong turf allowance on April 17. He was claimed by Greenway Stable and William Branch and trainer Andy Mathis and ordered returned to his previous owner and trainer – Nick Alexander and Steve Miyadi, according to the ruling.
Miyadi faces a possible sanction for the positive, according to the HISA website.
