Tiz'naz handles two turns in Buddy Delp Stakes
Tiz’naz, a winner in back-to-back sprints to launch his 3-year-old campaign, made it three straight wins when he stretched out to a mile and 70 yards for Wednesday’s $50,000 Buddy Delp Stakes at Delaware Park.
Breaking from the outside in a field of seven 3-year-olds under Kendrick Carmouch, Tiz’naz ($20.60) dueled with 6-5 favorite Joint Custody for most of the race before edging clear in deep stretch to score by three-quarters of a length. The winning time was 1:41.xx.
Joint Custody, runner-up in two stakes in Maryland earlier this season, settled for second again. Classic Giancnroll rallied from last to get third.
Tiz-naz, a son of Tiz Wonderful trained by John Servis for Main Line Racing Stable, is now 3 for 5 with earnings of $73,020. His previous two wins came against maidens at Calder and in a first-level optional $50,000 claimer at Monmouth Park.
