Tiz Flirtatious cranking up for return at Del Mar

ARCADIA, Calif. – Tiz Flirtatious, the winner of the Grade 1 Rodeo Drive Stakes last September and five other stakes in her career, is back in training for a campaign in the second half of this year.
On Tuesday at Santa Anita, Tiz Flirtatious breezed three furlongs in 36.60 seconds, her first workout of 2014. Tiz Flirtatious is expected to start during the Del Mar summer meeting, according to trainer Marty Jones.
“She looks really good,” Jones said. “She was just breezing.”
Tiz Flirtatious, 6, has not raced since finishing fifth in the Grade 1 Matriarch Stakes at Hollywood Park last December. Owner Pamela Ziebarth and Jones discussed retiring Tiz Flirtatious from racing to be bred but have opted for another season on the track.
Tiz Flirtatious is expected to run in the major turf stakes for fillies and mares at Del Mar this summer. She has won 8 of 14 starts and earned $779,800. Last November, Tiz Flirtatious was sixth in the Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Turf at Santa Anita.
