Tioga: Twin B Joe Fresh, Vivians Dream stay perfect with NYSS victories

Twin B Joe Fresh and Vivians Dream both improved their career records to three-for-three by winning the two New York Sire Stakes divisions for 2-year-old pacing fillies that took place on Friday night at Tioga Downs.
Driven by Jason Bartlett in the opening $54,500 split, Twin B Joe Fresh brushed from third to first past the 27 second opening quarter. After getting command, Twin B Joe Fresh reached the half in 56 2/5 and then rebuffed a first-over bid by Zira (Corey Braden) going to the 1:24 1/5 three-quarters. Twin B Joe Fresh would then use a 28 2/5 final kicker to draw off and win by three lengths over Hunting Season (Tyler Buter) in 1:52 3/5. Kissin Joe (Mike Merton) was the third-place finisher.
A Roll With Joe-Fresh Breeze filly bred by Brittany Farms, Twin B Joe Fresh is trained by Chris Ryder, and he also shares ownership of her with Dexter Dunn, Peter Trebotica, and Barry Spak. Acquired for $65,000 at the 2021 Standardbred Horse Sale, she has put away $76,887 to go with her undefeated status, and she returned $2.70 to win as the 1-5 favorite.
The second $55,500 section saw Earthwindfire (Jack Pelling), a half-sister to Cattlewash and Niki Hill, lead at the 27 second opening quarter, but she would be passed and put in the pocket by Vivians Dream (Wally Hennessey) heading to the 56 2/5 half. Vivians Dream and Earthwindfire remained first and second to the 1:24 4/5 three-quarters and into the lane, and even though Earthwindfire gained late in her career debut, she couldn't get by Vivians Dream, who held sway to tally by half a length in 1:52 1/5, just missing the track record by a fifth of a second. Ideal Star (Merton) checked in third.
