Tioga Downs: Dream Together wins again as Miss Versatility prelims conclude
Steele Memorial and Joie De Vie champion Dream Together kept her hot streak going by winning the lone $40,000 division of the fourth leg of the Miss Versatility Series for trotting mares on Friday night at Tioga Downs in 1:52 3/5.
NF Happenstance (Jack Parker Jr.) made front passing the 27 second opening quarter in the event, with Pink Pistol (Aaron Byron) yielding to sit in the pocket and Ice Attraction (Simon Allard) and Dream Together (Rick Zeron) settling in third and fourth. From there, NF Happenstance would go on to reach the half in 55 4/5, with Ice Attraction vacating the cones and that point and Dream Together grabbing the cover.
Ice Attraction went nowhere after pulling, leaving NF Happenstance clear on the lead at the 1:24 1/5 three-quarters and forcing Zeron to pull three-wide early on the final bend with Dream Together. Dream Together gained quickly on the turn after being fed racetrack, joined NF Happenstance on the lead off the final turn, and then kicked away through the lane to win by four lengths. NF Happenstance held second, with Caprice Hill (Mike Simons) up for third.
Dream Together is a 4-year-old daughter of Muscle Hill trained by Luc Blais for owner Determination. This was Dream Together's 12th career victory, and she has now earned $667,348. She was the 7-2 third choice and paid $9.70 to win.
The Miss Versatility Series will wrap up with a $100,000 (estimated) final on Little Brown Jug Day at the Delaware County (Ohio) Fair.
