Tioga: DD Delicious, Zero Tolerance get the job done in New York Sire Stakes

Tioga Downs played host to a pair of New York Sire Stakes races for sophomore pacing fillies on a soggy Monday afternoon, and Zero Tolerance and DD Delicious picked up the wins.
Zero Tolerance (David Miller) raced in the second $56,500 grouping and crushed the competition in 1:53 2/5 over the sloppy going. She was pocketed behind Brooklyn Lilacs (Joe Bongiorno) through stations of 27 3/5, 56 2/5, and 1:24, but it was all Zero Tolerance in the final quarter as she took over the lead and drew off to win by 10 3/4 lengths. My Lady Dude (Scott Zeron) came from fifth to second in the final stanza, with Brooklyn Lilacs fading to third.
Joe Holloway trains Zero Tolerance, a daughter of Heston Blue Chip, for owners Val D'Or Farms and Ted Gewertz. This was her 10th career victory, and she has now earned $590,413. The 1-9 favorite, she returned $2.10 across the board.
Second in the Breeders Crown and Three Diamonds last year, Zero Tolerance hasn't faced off against Grand Circuit company yet this season, but Holloway indicated that will change in the next couple weeks as she competes in the Lynch at The Downs at Mohegan Sun Pocono.
Back in the first $57,600 flight, DD Delicious (Jim Morrill Jr.) picked up the first stakes win of her career, stopping the clock in 1:54 1/5. She sat in the two-hole behind So Awesome (Tim Tetrick) at the 28 1/5 quarter, 57 1/5 half, and 1:25 three-quarters, then came up the inside in the lane to prevail by a head. So Awesome had to settle for second, and Hurrikane Norakane (Miller) was third.
DD Delicious is an Art Major filly bred and owned by Fiddler's Creek Stables LLC. Unraced as a rookie, she has a record of 3-1-1 from five trips behind the gate this year, and she has put away $66,205. A 5-1 shot, she paid $13.40 to win.
