Tioga: Close finishes in New York Sire Stakes

The photo finish camera had to be used to determine the winners of both $53,100 New York Sire Stakes events for 2-year-old pacing fillies on Sunday afternoon at Tioga Downs, and it would be Reenactment and Gottthegreenlight who got the nods.
In the first split Patsville (Mark MacDonald) had the lead at the 26 4/5 opening quarter, but favored A Girl That Twirls (Dan Dube) pressed on two-wide to take charge past that station. A Girl That Twirls was able to keep the top spot to the 56 1/5 half and the 1:24 three-quarters, but a first-over Joyride Hanover (Dexter Dunn) got an advantage on the outside on the final bend.
Joyride Hanover continued to cling to the lead in the lane, but American Ticket (Yannick Gingras) and Reenactment (Scott Zeron) were both finishing well after sitting second-over and third-over, and Reenactment, who was sent off at 16-1, got up approaching the wire to win by a head in 1:52 3/5. American Ticket, a 39-1 shot, was the second-place finisher, and Joyride Hanover had to settle for third in a game effort.
A filly from the first crop of Huntsville, Reenactment is trained by Linda Toscano for owners Let It Ride Stables Inc., Maurice Chodash, and Barry Cohen. Reenactment, who was bred by Fred Hertrich and sold for $35,000 at the 2020 Standardbred Horse Sale, has a record of 2-0-2 from five appearances, she has now banked $45,839, and she returned $35.40 to win. Reenactment is the second foal out of the Art Major mare Living History, a half-sister to a couple of big earners in Beach Memories (Somebeachsomewhere, 1:48 3/5, $945,866) and Bettor Memories (Bettor's Delight, 1:49 3/5, $779,607).

Gotthegreenlight (Dunn) gunned to the point from post four in the other flight and hit the quarter in 28 seconds, but pocket-sitter and heavy favorite Just Divine came to the outside and went by her as they raced in the homestretch for the first time. Just Divine backed down the tempo after hitting the front, clicking off a half in 56 4/5 and three-quarters in 1:25 4/5, and she also was able to put away a first-over try from Hamptons Babe (Jason Bartlett) after three-quarters.
Hamptons Babe faded on the last turn, which gave Dunn a path to angle out with Gotthegreenlight. She had some work to do to catch Just Divine after vacating the pylons, but she was able to do it, getting up on the wire to tally by a nose in 1:53. Just Divine was a tough-beat second, and Throw The Dice (Zeron) collected third.
Bred by Dr. Stephen Dey and acquired for $40,000 at last year's Standardbred Horse Sale, Gotthegreenlight is a daughter of American Ideal trained by Richard "Nifty" Norman for owners Patricia Stable and Kovach Stables LLC. Gotthegreenlight, who is the fifth foal out of the Bettor's Delight mare Bet On Luck (1:52 3/5, $531,617), has five wins and a second from six efforts, and she has now earned $108,433. She paid $6.90 to win as the 2-1 second choice.
