TimeformUS Belmont Horses in Focus for Saturday, Sept. 8, 2018
Race 4:
Colonel Tom (#6)
Earned a competitive 111 TimeformUS Speed Figure while flashing a ton of speed in his last win at Saratoga.
Ran well off short rest back in June, and George Weaver gets an 88 Trainer Rating off layoffs of 11 to 19 days.
Draws well outside of the other speeds this time after getting the rail in his last two starts.
8-1 on ML

Race 6:
Charreada (#3)
Did not get the right trip last time as she was too far back early and had trouble getting into the clear in the stretch.
Gets a positive rider switch to John Velazquez.
Should appreciate the stretch-out to 10 furlongs given her pedigree.
7-5 on ML
---
Race 7:
Bolita Boyz (#7)
May appreciate getting back to Belmont Park, since that’s where he’s run his best races.
Has a right to do better for these connections, since they have won with him in the past.
David Cohen figures to have him closer to the pace this time given the lack of speed in here.
6-1 on ML
---
Race 8:
Not So Quiet Man (#3)
Ran competitive speed figures at Monmouth earlier this summer.
Did not get a great trip last time as he was shuffled back in the early going after breaking well.
Lands in a much weaker spot than last time.
3-1 on ML
