TimeformUS Belmont Horses in Focus for Friday, June 8, 2018

David Aragona|Jun 07, 2018

Race 2:
Caitriona (#9)

Was stymied inside behind tiring horses on the far turn, losing valuable momentum in her turf debut.

Is bred to move forward on this surface given her strong damside grass pedigree.

Should appreciate the slight cutback to six furlongs

12-1 on ML

Race 5:
Girls Love Me (#5)

Overcame a wide post position in his debut after breaking outwardly.

Dominated that race while easily galloping away through the stretch in a visually impressive score.

Earned a competitive 88 TimeformUS Speed Figure, and a couple of runners have come back out of the race to validate that number.

15-1 on ML

Race 8:
Imperial Hint (#3)

I can forgive his loss at Churchill Downs given the track conditions and the outside flow to that race.

Based on his efforts last season, he’s the best sprinter in this bunch, and I think he can rebound.

Should work out his preferred stalking trip sitting just off Recruiting Ready.

9-2 on ML

Race 10:
Funny Kid (#4)

European horses have done well in this race.

Showed vast improvement this winter when his connections focused primarily on marathon races.

Defeated Group 1 marathon winner Ice Breeze when switched back to turf last time.

5-1 on ML
