Time Goes On leads Von Hemel sweep of Cyclones Handicap

Horses trained by Kelly Von Hemel swept the first four spots in the $75,000 Cyclones Handicap on Saturday night at Prairie Meadows, with Time Goes On winning by a half-length over Sir Wally Wally.
It was another 7 3/4 lengths back in third to Whiskey Wednesday, who finished 3 3/4 lengths clear of fourth-place finisher You Talkin to Me.
The horses were the four starters Von Hemel had in the Cyclones, a 1 1/16-mile race for 3-year-olds and up bred in Iowa.
Time Goes On ($6) tracked Mr. Solo through an opening quarter in 23.69 seconds and a half-mile in 48.01 before moving to the lead through six furlongs in 1:13.20. In the stretch, Time Goes On was confronted by Sir Wally Wally, but managed to hold off that rival while covering the distance on a fast track in 1:46.41.
“This little horse showed up tonight and ran a big race,” winning rider Glenn Corbett said in an interview broadcast by Prairie Meadows.
Time Goes On is a son of Not This Time who races for his breeders, Albaugh Family Stable and Taylor Brothers Properties. Time Goes On was winning his first stakes race and improved his record to 4 for 14 for earnings of $194,081.
