Tiller would have liked outside post

Ron Gierkink|Apr 14, 2010

ETOBICOKE, Ontario - Three Hour Tour will break from the rail in Friday's featured fourth race at Woodbine, a post that her hot trainer, Bob Tiller, could live without.

"I like to be clear on the outside," Tiller said. "I can't blame it all on the track. It's the luck of the draw. Some horses are intimidated being on the inside. When you're outside, you sit there, take a hold, and away you go around the turn."

Three Hour Tour, a 4-year-old owned by Edenvale Stable, should be among the favorites in the 5 1/2-furlong, first-level allowance for fillies and mares.

After winning a maiden race in her fifth appearance last year, Three Hour Tour made four starts in first-level allowances, highlighted by a runner-up placing Oct. 23. She has been laid up since a sub-par third-place finish as the favorite Nov. 21.

Three Hour Tour's new rider, Eurico Da Silva, has three wins from just four mounts at the meet for Tiller, who sent the filly out to work five-eighths in a quick 1:00 last Sunday.

Greenbackhasvalue looks like the one to catch in her second start off the sidelines. On April 3, she dueled three wide on the lead in a $40,000 conditioned claimer, before ending up second to the Wesley Ward-trained shipper Yogi'ssplashofgold.

Greenbackhasvalue romped on the front end second-time out last year, in a five-furlong sprint for $25,000 nonwinners-of-two stock. She lost her final 2009 outing at 5 1/2 furlongs by just a nose. She earned a Beyer Speed Figure of 77 in both of those races, close to the Beyer par of 79 for this level.

Politelyprecious was awarded an 83 Beyer when she finished three lengths back in eighth in her last outing Nov. 15 in the Jammed Lovely Stakes. She competed in several restricted stakes last year, and managed a fourth in the Bison City going long in June.

Politelyprecious wintered in South Carolina with trainer Mike Keogh, who will give jockey Justin Stein a leg up.

Cataleenda had a productive 2009 campaign, during which she won 3 of 10 starts and more than $100,000. She garnered some black type when third in the minor Eternal Search Stakes.

Blonde Humor, a well-bred Distorted Humor mare, has worked quickly for her first start since a fifth-place finish behind Greenbackhasvalue on Nov. 22.
