Tilla Cat up in time in La Coneja Stakes

Coady Photography Tilla Cat and jockey Tracy Hebert win the La Coneja Stakes by half a length Saturday.
Tilla Cat returned to racing with fillies and mares Saturday in the $85,000 La Coneja at Sunland Park and was up for a half-length win over Rappakuba. It was another length back to Explosive Spy in third.
The La Coneja was run over 5 1/2 furlongs, and it was for horses bred in New Mexico.
Tilla Cat ($6.80) had one horse beat early as Rappakuba ran the opening quarter in 21.62 seconds and the half-mile in 44.73. Tilla Cat overtook the leader late while covering the distance in 1:03.69.
Tracy Hebert was aboard for trainer Todd Fincher. Tilla Cat is a daughter of Attila’s Storm.
Tilla Cat had faced males one race earlier, finishing second in the Mt. Cristo Rey Handicap at Sunland.
