A limited number of tickets for the June 5 Belmont Stakes will go on sale to the public beginning Thursday at 10 a.m. via Ticketmaster.com, the New York Racing Association announced in a press release Tuesday. With capacity at outdoor sports and entertainment venues expanding from 25 percent to 33 percent beginning May 19, Belmont Park will be able to host approximately 11,000 ticketed spectators. With social distance guidelines and mandatory assigned seating in effect, only reserved seating and hospitality areas will be available. There will be no general admission tickets sold. All tickets must be purchased in advance and be presented digitally on race day. NYRA will offer advance pre-sale opportunities to 2020 Belmont Stakes ticket buyers, along with NYRA Bets Elite, Preferred, and Bronze members, beginning on Wednesday. As is current practice, spectators must show proof of completed COVID-19 vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test result in order to enter Belmont Park. Last Saturday, Belmont opened for fans for the first time since early March 2020.
