Gal in a Rush hit the front in midstretch while Ticker Tape Home awaited room, and the latter rallied inside after getting in the clear to prevail by a neck, in a time of 1:23.10.
Queen Macho took the long way home to finish another 1 1/4 lengths back in third. She was followed by Metaphysical, Swall, Time Passage, Tito’s Calling, Pleasure’s Gold, Nom de Plume, Talk to Ya Later, and Owen’s Tour Guide.
Ticker Tape Home ($12.40) gave jockey Patrick Husbands a meet-leading 12th stakes victory. All were for her trainer, Mark Casse.
“She’s versatile,” Husbands said. “I left the gate squeezing her and I saw [the leaders] going so I just bided my time. I went behind them and followed them.”
A daughter of Medaglia d’Oro bred by Sam-Son Farm, Ticker Tape Home earned $97,200 of the $153,240 purse for Live Oak Plantation.
