Thunders Rocknroll opened the Will Rogers Downs meet in Claremore, Okla., on Monday with an 8 1/2-length win over Antique Silver in the $50,000 Wilma Mankiller Stakes. It was another 2 3/4 lengths back in third to Demidanu. Thunders Rocknroll ($5.60) broke from the rail, moved up to contest the pace through a half-mile 44.61 seconds, then separated herself from her rivals through the stretch. She covered the distance on a track rated fast in 1:09.30. David Cabrera was aboard for trainer Pat Swan. Thunders Rocknroll is a 6-year-old Minnesota-bred daughter of Maclean’s Music who races for her breeder, Bob Lindgren. She was winning the fifth stakes race of her career in the Wilma Mankiller.
