Threefiveindia drops into allowance

Threefiveindia wins an Aug. 27 allowance
Adam Coglianese/NYRA Threefiveindia's most recent win came in allowance company at Saratoga last August.

OZONE PARK, N.Y. – Though seven of his nine wins at the Aqueduct meet have come on the turf, trainer Chad Brown looks poised to win Thursday’s $85,000 dirt allowance feature with Threefiveindia.

After losses in four consecutive stakes dating back to last October, Threefiveindia drops into allowance company and, more importantly, should get the right setup to earn his first victory in eight months.

Threefiveindia comes from off the pace, and this field of seven sprinters has at least three confirmed need-the-lead types in Angry Moon, Green Gratto, and Hey Jabber Jaw.

Brown tried adding blinkers on Threefiveindia in the Grade 3 Tom Fool, but he was never involved after a poor break and finished seventh behind Skyler’s Scramjet. The blinkers come off Thursday.

“The blinkers didn’t work out,” Brown said. “Hopefully we get the right setup. We’re trying to find his form. We know he has a lot of ability. Hopefully this is the first step back in the right direction.”

The last time Threefiveindia ran in an allowance race he won by three lengths last August at Saratoga. Javier Castellano, aboard that day, is back on Thursday.

King Kranz is another who could benefit from a contested pace. Though he won a six-furlong race while on the front end last March – off a 10-month layoff – he won the Gold Fever Stakes last May at Belmont from off the pace.

Life in Shambles, who finished fourth in the Tom Fool, is another contender in this spot.

Hey Jabber Jaw makes his first start for David Jacobson, who claimed him for $40,000 out of a win just a week ago.

Candid Desire is a longshot in this field.

KEY CONTENDERS

Threefiveindia, by Street Hero
Last 3 Beyers: 79-94-99

◗ Toss the Tom Fool, in which he was equipped with blinkers for the first time, and his previous five efforts are good enough to win this.

◗ Alternated seconds and thirds with Life in Shambles – who is back in this field – and ran a good second to Stallwalkin’ Dude in the Grade 3 Fall Highweight last November.

Life in Shambles, by Broken Vow
Last 3 Beyers: 87-91-94

◗ As is the case with Threefiveindia, he drops into allowance company after four unsuccessful stakes tries.

◗ Last time he ran in an allowance race he beat Hey Jabber Jaw by 2 1/2 lengths at Belmont.

◗ Drawn nicely in post 6 under Trevor McCarthy.

King Kranz, by Munnings
Last 3 Beyers: 90-89-72

◗ Came off a lengthy layoff to win a slow-paced allowance race while breaking from the rail on March 16 in his first start for trainer Rudy Rodriguez.

◗ Has run well over this track and has recorded all three of his wins at this six-furlong distance.

◗ Picks up the services of Irad Ortiz Jr.
