Three Technique recuperating from ankle surgery

Three Technique, a one-time Kentucky Derby prospect, is recuperating from ankle surgery and will be pointed to one-turn races later this year, trainer Jeremiah Englehart said.
Three Technique, a son of Mr Speaker owned by Hall of Fame football coach Bill Parcells, finished fourth in the Grade 2 Rebel Stakes at Oaklawn Park on March 14. Englehart said upon resuming training following that race, Three Technique was found to have some pressure in an ankle. Follow-up X-rays revealed a “small flake” that has since been surgically removed, Englehart said.
Three Technique is recuperating at Blackwood Stables in Versailles, Ky.
Englehart said that when Three Technique does return later this year, he will be pointed to races run around one-turn. Both of Three Technique’s victories have come in seven-furlong races.

“He doesn’t wasn’t to go as far as we thought,” Englehart said.
Englehart said he would try to have Three Technique ready for races such as the Woody Stephens and H. Allen Jerkens, Grade 1 races for 3-year-olds run at seven furlongs.
