Three go furlong in 9.8 seconds for Barretts sale

Two fillies and a colt fired off eighth-mile works in 9.80 seconds on Monday to top the work tab at the Barretts March select juvenile sale's first under-tack show.

The under-tack show was the first of two for the March 20 Barretts auction in Pomona, Calif. The second preview will take place on March 18.

The fastest eighth-mile workers were Hip No. 51, a Bernstein-Cometuseibella filly offered by B.C.3. Thoroughbreds, agent; Hip No. 185, a daughter of Malibu Moon and Tsu Lou consigned by the Sequel Bloodstock agency; and Hip No. 60, a Johannesburg-Decadent Designer colt, also consigned by B.C.3. Thoroughbreds.

The quickest quarter-mile breeze was by Hip No. 147, an Officer colt out of Rovie Wade, who covered the distance in 20.80 seconds. He, too, is in the B.C.3. Thoroughbreds consignment.
