Three allowance races highlight Sunday card
RACE REPLAY IS NOT AVAILABLE
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – A trio of Sunday allowances anchor a 10-race Churchill card that brings the race week to an end with a 1 p.m. Eastern first post.
Race 7, the nominal feature, is a $95,000 turf sprint with wide-open conditions. A full field of 12 fillies and mares figures to have A Bit of Both and Change of Control among a core of lukewarm favorites, assuming weather conditions permit it to remain on the grass. A chance of showers and a high of 55 are in the Sunday forecast.

Races 4 and 9 are splits of the same $87,000 first-level race going a mile on the main track. Letmeno looks like the horse to beat in the first division as he exits a rugged Oct. 15 race at Keeneland, while Icon, Trident Hit, and the recently claimed Motagally will take their shares of action in the second division. Both races go with fields of seven.
After Sunday, Churchill goes dark for two days before a new five-day week starts Wednesday. The highlight next weekend is the Grade 3 Chilukki, a one-turn mile for fillies and mares on Saturday.
Fans are being admitted to Churchill for live racing with strict pandemic protocols in place. Ticket purchases must be made online.
The Sunday card will be telecast on FS1 in its entirety.
◗ Unusually high show mutuel payoffs resulted from the second race Thursday at Churchill when Ship’s Creek, the 3-10 favorite in a field of five maiden claimers, finished last without ever threatening. From a show pool of $24,038, there was $19,861 bet on Ship’s Creek. The $2 show prices on the first three finishers were $16.80, $20.40, and $13.80.
