Thomas, Casse create juvenile sales and training partnership

Becky Thomas and Justin Casse have announced a partnership to break, train, and sell 2-year-olds for the 2015 auction season and beyond under the name Thomas & Casse.

The new consignment operation will make its debut at the Fasig-Tipton Florida select sale of 2-year-olds in training on Mar. 4, and the operation will also sell horses at the three Ocala Breeders’ Sales Co. juvenile sales and the Barretts May 2-year-olds in training sale.

Thomas will consign horses as Sequel Bloodstock at the Barretts selected sale of 2-year-olds in training on Feb. 23, and she will continue to operate under that banner in her other ventures.

“Becky is one of the most respected horsewomen in the U.S. who has broken and trained Grade 1 winners like Officer, Creative Cause and Artemis Agrotera,” Casse said. “Partnering gives our clients more options and expertise.”

Casse previously sold 2-year-olds under the name Casse Sales. Both partners are based in the Ocala, Fla., area.

“Justin is a terrific young horseman who has a great eye for talent,” Thomas said. “Teaming up makes sense on many different levels, and we’re both excited about the venture.”
