NORTH RANDALL, Ohio - It looks like a mad dash for second money in the $40,000 Brent's Princess Stakes at Thistledown on Saturday, as Lady Cherie, who won four stakes last season, will make her seasonal debut against six Ohio-bred fillies and mares.

Lady Cherie, owned by M. Y. Stables, has posted three consecutive bullet workouts in the last two weeks for trainer Michael Nance, and her regular rider, Julio Felix, will be in the saddle. A 5-year-old homebred daughter of Al Sabin, she has been very effective during her 23-race career, posting a 12-4-2 record for earnings of $380,100. Under the allowance conditions of the race she is highweighted at 122 pounds.

Nance's other entrant in the six-furlong race, Left Lane Lorrain, could fill the exacta. A stakes winner in 2001 for her owner, Cheryl Benson, Left Lane Lorrain will carry 116 pounds and be ridden by Jeffrey Skerrett.

Another horse who figures prominently is Blue Electra, who was stakes-placed last season.
