Thank You Marylou eyes Raven Run in pursuit of BC Filly and Mare Sprint berth
Thank You Marylou will try to stamp her ticket to the Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Sprint when starting Oct. 18 in the Grade 2 Raven Run Stakes, the highlight of the next week of racing at Keeneland.
Owned by Ken and Sarah Ramsey and trained by Mike Maker, Thank You Marylou gave a breakthrough performance in winning the Sept. 20 Dogwood Stakes at Churchill when wearing blinkers for the first time. She is one of 29 3-year-old fillies nominated to the seven-furlong Raven Run.
In other local developments toward the BC Filly and Mare Sprint, trainer Rusty Arnold said a decision on whether to send Southern Honey will come after the filly breezes next weekend (Oct. 18 or 19), while owner-trainer Wesley Ward said he is “very happy” with Judy the Beauty after the 5-year-old mare breezed five furlongs in 1:01.80 over the Keeneland turf Thursday.
