Terre Noire seeks seventh straight win Wednesday
Terre Noire will attempt to win her seventh straight race Wednesday at Louisiana Downs. She is in the sixth race on a nine-race card that ushers in the final week of the meet. The first-level, $22,000 allowance is for fillies and mares over 7 1/2 furlongs on turf and drew a field of 13.
Terre Noire began her streak in February, winning a $4,000 claiming race at Delta Downs. She was freshened for the Louisiana Downs meet and has gone 5 for 5 since returning in May. Terre Noire started the season in the $5,000 claiming ranks and ascended to the optional $10,000 claiming level in July and August.
Don Simington has ridden Terre Noire throughout her streak and will be aboard again from post 9 for trainer Pamela Simpson. Terre Noire is a 6-year-old mare by Hesabull and has won 10 of 34 career starts for $114,035.
Louisiana Downs closes Saturday.
