Terra's Angel points to River Cities at Louisiana Downs

Following a sharp allowance win at Lone Star Park, Terra’s Angel is being pointed to the $60,000 River Cities at Louisiana Downs, said trainer Terry Eoff. The 1 1/16-mile turf race for fillies and mares will be run on the Super Derby undercard Sept. 7.
Terra’s Angel won at the distance July 13, when she fought off multiple stakes winner Cowgirls Like Us for a head victory in the turf allowance at Lone Star. Terra’s Angel earned a Beyer Speed Figure of 80.
“Right now, she’s in her prime,” said Eoff, who owns the 4-year-old Terra’s Angel with Johnny B. Evans. “She looks good, feels good. You can see when a horse is coming together, and she is right now.”

Terra’s Angel will be looking for the fourth stakes win of her career in the River Cities. She’s won stakes on dirt and turf, among them the Del Mar Juvenile Fillies Turf. Back in May, Terra’s Angel ran third in the inaugural $100,000 Lone Star Park Turf Stakes.
Eoff has two other horses pointing to upcoming stakes at Louisiana Downs. He said that Silvercents, who last year won the track’s Louisiana Cup Juvenile Fillies, will launch her 3-year-old season in the $50,000 Louisiana Cup Filly and Mare Sprint. The six-furlong race for Louisiana-breds is Aug. 3. On the same card, Eoff has Fire of Gold, a debut winner at Lone Star, for the $50,000 Louisiana Cup Juvenile Fillies. Both runners are by Goldencents.
