Tepin slated to work Sunday for Endeavour

HALLANDALE BEACH, Fla. – Tepin is scheduled to breeze Sunday at Palm Meadows as the star turf mare remains on schedule for her 6-year-old debut in the Grade 3 Endeavour on Feb. 11 at Tampa Bay Downs.
Trainer Mark Casse said a decision is forthcoming on whether the Endeavour will serve as a springboard toward a race on the March 25 Dubai World Cup card.
“She’s done so much for us already that Dubai is about the only thing left to do,” said Casse.
Tepin, an earner of more than $4.4 million for owner Robert Masterson, breezed a half-mile Jan. 8 at Palm Meadows in her first work since finishing second behind Tourist in the Nov. 5 Breeders’ Cup Mile.
Casse said Tepin was “supposed to breeze back a second time already, but we missed a little time with her after she kicked off a back shoe in her stall.”
“She’s done that before, and it’s never been a big deal,” Casse said. “We’ll monitor her like we always do, and hopefully we’ll have her all set to go to Tampa.”
Tepin was the champion turf female in 2015 and was expected to repeat as champion in that category when the 2016 Eclipse Awards were presented Saturday night at Gulfstream Park.
