Teofilo joins Darley stable

Teofilo, the recently retired undefeated 2006 European 2-year-old champion, has been booked to stand next year at Kildangan Stud in County Kildare, Ireland, as part of Sheikh Mohammed's contingent of stallions at Darley Stud.

By Galileo, one of the leading lights doing stud duty for Sheikh Mohammed's arch rivals at John Magnier's nearby Coolmore Stud, Teofilo will remain the property of his breeder-owners, Jim and Jackie Bolger.

Trained to five juvenile victories without a loss by Jim Bolger, Teofilo clinched his championship in Newmarket's Group 1 Dewhurst Stakes, a race sponsored by Darley. The Irish-bred Teofilo's two biggest victories came at the expense of Magnier's best 2-year-old, Holy Roman Emperor.
