Tensas Yucatan wins Raspberry Stakes

Tensas Yucatan turned back a bid from 6-5 favorite and previously unbeaten Ahead of Her Time to capture the $75,000 Elge Raspberry Stakes on Friday afternoon at Louisiana Downs. Louisiana Song finished third followed by Silver Mitten.

The winner, trained by Morris Nicks, reversed the outcome of the Louisiana Breeders' Oaks on the main track here in July when Ahead of Her Time proved narrowly best following a lengthy stretch drive.

Tensas Yucatan ($7.20) won for the third time in seven career starts. She was ridden by Donnie Meche and covered the about one-mile distance over a firm turf course in 1:36.63.
