Tensas Cool Town up at end

OPELOUSAS, La. - Rallying strongly down the stretch under Billy Patin, Tensas Cool Town collared pacesetter Diamond Mission in the final strides to win Friday night's filly division of the $100,000 John Franks Memorial Stakes. Favored Miss Silver Pistol finished third, followed by Alert Alert.

Trained by Anthony Agilar, Tensas Cool Town ($8.60) earned $60,000 for owner A. Phillip Henderson and more than recouped the $22,000 she was bought for at the Franks 2-year-old in training sale here in March to become eligible for Friday night's race. She is a daughter of Leestown out of the Cozzene mare Cool Kiss. The win was her second from five starts and was accomplished in a time of 1:06.51 for the 5 1/2 furlongs over a fast track.
