Tell Me Lies dominant in fillies division of Sales Stakes

As expected, Tell Me Lies went to the front and never looked back while winning the $45,000 Sales Stakes for 3- and 4-year-old fillies Tuesday on Canada Day at Northlands Park.

With Scott Williams aboard, Tell Me Lies ($2.10) never looked threatened while posting a 3 1/4-length decision over Canaveral Leader in the 6 1/2-furlong sprint. The overmatched Bet On Soup finished 30 lengths behind Canaveral Leader in the three-horse field.

Trained by Greg Tracy, Tell Me Lies posted a quick final time of 1:17.41, which was more than a second faster than the male division two races later.

In the $46,750 colts-and-geldings division, Herbert Martinez guided Clever Speed ($2.90) to a 3 1/4-length win over Tribal Ruler.

Trained by Marcos Malvaez, Clever Speed ran the distance in 1:18.66.
