Owner and breeder Ted O’Neill died earlier this month. O’Neill, 80, was involved in racing for over 40 years and owned Ann Marie Farm in Paris, Ky. O’Neill, who raced primarily in Northern California, owned Kilgowan, winner of the Grade 3 El Camino Real Derby in 2004, and the stakes winner North Beach. His top current runners are Castle Dermot, winner of $159,870, and Prairie City Road, who has earned $96,720. He was also the breeder of a number of stakes winners. O’Neill is survived by his wife, Noreen; a daughter, Sheila O’Keefe; two grandsons; and a brother, Dan, who is also a longtime owner.
