Debra A. Roma Ted Noffey began his career last Aug. 2 when he won a maiden race at Saratoga.

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – Ted Noffey, the undefeated 2-year-old champion of 2025 who has been sidelined all year due to bone bruising, is slated to rejoin trainer Todd Pletcher at his Saratoga barn in the coming week, according to Ned Toffey, general manager of Spendthrift Farm, which owns the colt.

Ted Noffey has been in training for several weeks now at Ian Brennan’s farm – the former Stonestreet Farm – in Ocala, Fla.

“He’s moving really well and showing great energy and doing well,” Toffey said.

Toffey said in addition to training, Ted Noffey gets turned out in a paddock each day.

“Not all horses let you do that as you’re getting them fit,” Toffey said. “He’s such a good-minded horse that they put him out in a paddock and he watches horses train. Because he’s such a good-minded horse, he makes it easy on us.”

Ted Noffey began his career last Aug. 2 when he won a maiden race at Saratoga. He followed that up with Grade 1 victories in the Hopeful, Breeders’ Futurity at Keeneland, and the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile at Del Mar.

Ted Noffey had two workouts at Palm Beach Downs in January before being sidelined with bone bruising. There is no timetable for Ted Noffey’s return to the races.

Meanwhile, Toffey said that Further Ado, the Grade 1 Blue Grass Stakes winner who finished fifth in the Grade 1 Haskell over a sloppy Monmouth Park surface on July 18, is jogging at Churchill Downs. Toffey said the plan is to point to the Pennsylvania Derby on Sept. 19 and hopefully the Breeders’ Cup at Keeneland, where Further Ado has run his best races.

“I think we’re on track to stick with that plan and hope that Haskell Day was a case of not loving the track,” Toffey said. “I guess we’ll find out. He came out of the race well.”
