Ted Noffey possible for Dwyer

Ted Noffey, last year’s 2-year-old champion male, was expected to make his 3-year-old debut in Saturday’s Perryville Stakes at Keeneland. But trainer Todd Pletcher apparently was not completely satisfied with the colt’s five-furlong workout in 1:01.93 on Oct. 10 at Saratoga and thus he was not entered in the race.
Ned Toffey, the chief operating officer and general manager of Spendthrift Farm, which owns the colt, said Ted Noffey is scheduled to work again this coming weekend in Saratoga. Depending on how that goes, Ted Noffey could be considered for the $200,000 Dwyer Stakes, a one-mile race for 3-year-olds on Nov. 7 at Belmont.
“There are a couple of options, including the Dwyer,” Toffey said.
Ted Noffey went 4 for 4 in 2026 including Grade 1 victories in the Hopeful, Breeders’ Futurity, and Breeders’ Cup Juvenile. He was sidelined in January with bone bruising. He returned to the work tab in early August and has had nine breezes as he attempts a return to the races.
