Barbara D. Livingston Corey Lanerie guides Taylor S to a 3 1/2-length victory in the Any Limit Saturday at Gulfstream Park.

HALLANDALE BEACH, Fla. – Taylor S sped to the front and never looked back in posting a 3 1/2-length victory in the second running of the $75,000 Any Limit, the first of two ungraded stakes on a 12-race Saturday card at Gulfstream Park.

With Corey Lanerie sending her from the rail post in the six-furlong Any Limit, Taylor S notched her third victory from six career starts. She paid $6 as second choice in a field of seven fillies after finishing in 1:09.75 over a fast track.

Dogwood Trail did most of the chasing when finishing second, another 3 3/4 lengths before Coco’s Wildcat. Then came Miss Wilby, Perchance, Spark, and Unhindered.

Taylor S, a Kentucky-bred by Medaglia d’Oro, was bred by her owners, the Albaugh Family Stable.

“I thought for $75,000, this race came up awfully salty, but that’s the way it is down here in the winter,” said winning trainer Dale Romans. “This is one fast filly and we wanted to give her a chance to show what she can do.”

Taylor S, already a two-time winner at sprint distances at Churchill Downs, will be considered for a longer race that could possibly lead to the May 1 Kentucky Oaks, said Romans. “We’ll play it by ear,” he said.

Perchance, previously unbeaten in two starts and the 9-5 favorite, had no apparent mishap from her outside post when finishing 11 lengths behind the winner.

The $2 exacta (1-3) paid $18.40, the $1 trifecta (1-3-2) returned $51.50, and the 10-cent superfecta (1-3-2-4) was worth $34.98.
