Tattersalls May breeze-up sale catalogs released

Tattersalls Ltd. has released its catalog for the Guineas Breeze-Up and Horses in Training Sale. The sale, scheduled for May 2-3 at Newmarket, England, includes 133 2-year-olds and 60 horses in training.

A breeze-up preview for juveniles will be held on May 2 at 9 a.m. local time and will be shown live on the Racing UK channel.

“Last year’s inaugural Tattersalls Guineas Breeze Up and Horses in Training Sale attracted buyers from throughout Europe and further afield, and this year’s catalog again looks to have plenty to attract an equally diverse crowd,” Tattersalls chairman Edmond Mahony said. “The combination of breeze up horses with older horses in training immediately proved to be a popular format and we look forward to building on the success of 2012.”

Among the sires represented in the 2-year-old section are Acclamation, Cape Cross, Dubawi, High Chaparral, New Approach, Pivotal, and Teofilo.

U.S.-based sires represented in the catalog include Artie Schiller, Exchange Rate, Giant’s Causeway, Lemon Drop Kid, More Than Ready, Roman Ruler, and Stormy Atlantic.

Last year’s horses in training section produced subsequent Group 2 winner Fanunalter. This year’s catalog includes five group or listed stakes performers, led by Group 3-placed Kingsdesire.
