Tara's Tango retired, will become Stonestreet broodmare

Benoit & Associates Trainer Jerry Hollendorfer said the Breeders’ Cup Distaff at Santa Anita on Nov. 4 is a goal he would like to pursue with Tara’s Tango.
Tara’s Tango, the California-based Grade 1 winner who was among the top fillies on the West Coast in 2016, has retired from racing and will become a broodmare at Stonestreet Farms.
Stonestreet owner Barbara Banke confirmed Monday that Tara’s Tango, a 4-year-old by Unbridled’s Song, was retired following her fourth-place finish Nov. 5 in the Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Sprint at Santa Anita. Banke said Tara’s Tango will be bred in the spring to Medaglia d’Oro.
Jerry Hollendorfer trained Tara’s Tango through a 14-start career, during which she won five races and $806,004. Her graded wins at Santa Anita included the Grade 1 Santa Margarita and Grade 2 Santa Maria; she also won the Grade 3 Rancho Bernardo at Del Mar.
