Tap Dance City back in Arc

Alan Shuback|Sep 28, 2004

Tap Dance City, declared out of Sunday's Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe after a scheduled Air France flight from Tokyo to Paris was canceled Sunday, found another flight that was to enable him to arrive at Longchamp on Tuesday.

And so the winner of last year's Japan Cup will run in the Arc after all, although the heavy ground he might prefer does not seem to be materializing.

Sulamani, though, will not run in the Arc. The winner of five Group 1 races in four different countries, he was withdrawn on Tuesday. He will go instead in the 1 1/4-mile Champion Stakes at Newmarket on Oct. 23.

Bago, last year's European juvenile champion, who won the 1 1/4-mile Group 1 Grand Prix de Paris, will run in the Arc only if the ground remains good.
