Tampa Bay Downs: R Loyal Man romps

Bursting through from between rivals, R Loyal Man swept past the leaders in midstretch and went on to post a smashing 8 1/2-length romp in the 21st running of the $60,000 Inaugural Stakes at Tampa Bay Downs

Under Rajiv Maragh, R Loyal Man returned $8.40 after covering the six furlongs over a fast track in 1:11.91. Forestry Prince held off a host of rivals for the place at 45-1, finishing three-quarters of a length ahead of third-place Neverbeendancin, with Dinner Choice fourth. The favorite, Liqoreux, finished sixth. The win was the third from six outings for the More Than Ready colt trained by Tim Ritvo.

A crowd of 5,459 was on hand for the opening day of the 94-day Tampa Bay meeting.
