RACE 7: IN A JAM blossomed in his last three outings on the Gulfstream grass, culminating with a gutsy score in a first-level allowance/optional claimer. He’s versatile in terms of running style and could make his stakes debut a winning one. (1) RACE 8: STERLING SILVER earned Beyers in the upper 90s when finishing first in back-to-back dirt stakes under Javier Castellano in October at Aqueduct, including the Grade 2 Gallant Bloom. She’s a three-time winner over the seven-furlong distance of this handicap and has worked weekly over Tampa’s main track in preparation for her season opener. DREAM CONCERT placed in each of her last two outings in local stakes, ending up third most recently behind Grade 1 winner Chi Town Lady when turning back from a route to six furlongs in the Minaret. LADY RADLER is getting back on Lasix and figures to be a speed threat. (3) RACE 9: MARKETSEGMENTATION went to the sidelines after a flat fourth in the Grade 1 Diana at Saratoga and has a history of firing when fresh. She was a chalky third in a Grade 3 Tampa stakes last winter and could be an effective pacemaker in this Grade 2 field that’s devoid of speed. Accomplished layoff trainer Chad Brown sends her out along with probable favorite FLUFFY SOCKS, who was a wide fourth among next-out graded stakes winners Ruby Nell and Chili Flag in the Grade 2 Pegasus World Cup Filly and Mare Turf. SPARKLE BLUE closed from sixth to third last time out in the slow-paced Endeavour, a Grade 3 won by a rival who returned to finish a close second in the Grade 3 Honey Fox at Gulfstream. RACE 10: WEIGH THE RISKS ran second to future stakes winner Ozara on debut before beating two next-out winners while graduating in another two-turn maiden special at Saratoga. She has worked nicely at Payson Park and shouldn’t need one with Irad Ortiz Jr. back riding for Brown, who has numerous live runners on this card. Irish-bred POOLSIDE WITH SLIM ran big in both of her starts on Tapeta and is strongly bred for the grass. Other possibilities include WASKESIU, AUSTERE, and STYLE POINTS. He appeared slightly best over the fast maiden winner Tuscan Gold in a good-looking half-mile work March 2 at Payson. His stablemate, DOMESTIC PRODUCT, worked evenly with Grade 2 Risen Star victor Sierra Leone on March 2 at Payson. He could go favored off his second to Hades in the Grade 3 Holy Bull at Gulfstream, for which he got an 87 Beyer. NO MORE TIME has worked strongly since taking the Grade 3 Sam F. Davis and should be the controlling speed. (3) THE PLAY: 7 / 1, 3, 5 / 1, 2, 3 / 1, 5, 6, 7, 10 / 4, 5, 7 = $67.50 ticket :: Want to learn more about handicapping and wagering?
