OCEANPORT, N.J. - Talkin About Love roared through the slop to capture the off-the-turf $70,000 Revidere Stakes for fillies and mares Saturday at Monmouth Park.\nA 5-year-old owned, bred, and trained by Kevin Sleeter, Talkin About Love ($8.40) earned her first win of the season in six tries and only her second win in the last 15 races.\nThe New Jersey-bred winner of the Grade 3 Monmouth Oaks in 2007, Talkin About Love had launched strong rallies in her last four but could do no better than a trio of seconds and a third.\nOn a wet strip on her home track, Talkin About Love finally put it all back together.\n"It had been a long time," Sleeter said.\nCarlos Marquez Jr. gave the mare the patient trip she needed to get his third win on the card.\n"Everything worked perfect," Marquez said. "Kevin told me to save all the ground going into the first turn and get her clear as soon as I could on the backside. When I asked, she finished very well."\nAsk the Moon and Cape Cod Girl, a pair of runners entered for the main track only, ran 1-2 in the early stages, while Talkin About Love got away seventh. The pacesetters stayed on gamely but were no match as Talkin About Love motored past on a five-wide sweep that carried her to a three-quarters of a length win.\nCape Cod Girl got second, followed by Ask the Moon, Annabill, Reata's Vixen, Lucky Copy, and Rap Tale.\nThe time was 1:45.72 for the 1 1/16 miles on the sealed strip.
