Take Me Serious hopes to stretch speed in More Than Even
?q=100)
Take Me Serious will be looking to stretch her speed around two turns Tuesday, when she starts as the probable favorite in the $55,000 More Than Even Stakes at Will Rogers Downs in Claremore, Okla.
The one-mile race is for fillies and mares bred in Oklahoma and honors the multiple stakes-winning mare who was based in Oklahoma.
Take Me Serious is already a stakes winner at the meet, having captured the Miranda Diane against fellow Oklahoma-breds in March at Will Rogers. The six-furlong race for fillies and mares was her first start since December 2022, and she jumped out to the lead at the start and never gave up her advantage for a 1 3/4-length win for Bryan Hawk and trainer Joe Offolter.

Take Me Serious has raced once since, a second-place finish in the Wilma Mankiller on April 15 at Will Rogers. She chased the pace in that six-furlong race, tracking as Palacein proved a length winner. Palacein came into the race off a runner-up finish to Grade 2 winner Taxed in an allowance at Oaklawn.
Take Me Serious earned a Beyer Speed Figure of 81 for her effort in the Wilma Mankiller, which came against open company. The number is the best last-race Beyer in the More Than Even.
Take Me Serious brings proven two-turn form into Tuesday’s race. The last time she routed, she won a nonwinners-of-two lifetime allowance at a mile at Will Rogers. The start came in April 2022. In her only other two-turn out, Take Me Serious was second in a maiden special weight at a mile. It was her second career start, and her first at two turns.
Take Me Serious rated from just off the pace in her April 2022 win, but could prove to be the controlling speed in the More Than Even. She will start from post 7 and could either show the way or get a tracking trip off Kachina.
Kachina wired allowance rivals at seven furlongs two races back at Remington Park. She’s made one start since, and was eighth in the Miranda Diane won by Take Me Serious.
Doudoudouwanadance is stretching back out around two turns for her second start of the year. She was stakes-placed the last time she routed. She also registered her last win at two turns, in the Slide Show Stakes in November 2022 at Remington Park.
Gotta See Red is moving back to two turns. Her last win came in last year’s More Than Even Stakes.
The field is rounded out by Tom’s Girl, who comes off a Will Rogers allowance win at a mile; Gospel Fabulous, who was just edged last out in another mile allowance at Will Rogers; and Do You Believe, who should be sharp for the move back to two turns off a start at six furlongs to launch her season April 2 at Will Rogers.
