T O Elvis, dominant winner of Saturday’s Grade 1 Churchill Downs Stakes, will be pointed to the Breeders’ Cup Sprint on Oct. 31 at Keeneland. He will likely have one start before then and it’s possible that start could come in New York. T O Elvis, who left Churchill Downs on Sunday morning to head to Chicago before flying back home to Japan, was originally slated to run in a race at the Royal Ascot meeting, said Yuto Kumagai, who works with the connections of T O Elvis, including trainer Daisuke Takayanagi. “The owner and trainer decided to come back for the Breeders’ Cup Sprint,” Kumagai said Sunday morning. “He was going to go to the [United Kingdom], that plan was canceled.” :: Access the most trusted data and information in horse racing! DRF Past Performances and Picks are available now. Kumagai said T O Elvis could have a race in Japan prior to the Breeders’ Cup or, if Forever Young, the 2025 Breeders’ Cup Classic winner, comes to the U.S. for the Jockey Club Gold Cup scheduled to christen the new Belmont Park on Sept. 18, T O Elvis could come back with him for a potential race at Belmont as well. The Vosburgh is the typical New York prep for the Breeders’ Cup, but no date has yet been announced for the Vosburgh. T O Elvis, a Kentucky-bred son of Volatile, beat some of the best North American sprinters in training, to record a 3 1/4-length victory. He ran seven furlongs in 1:20.49, just .05 off the track record set by Groupie Doll in 2012. He earned a 108 Beyer Speed Figure. :: Want to learn more about handicapping and wagering?
