T Kraft on the fence, Crazy Mason may supplement for Breeders' Cup Sprint

Lee Einsidler, the owner of Vosburgh winner T Kraft, is not committing to run his horse in the Breeders’ Cup Sprint. Gregg Sacco, the trainer of Vosburgh runner-up Crazy Mason, wants to run his horse in the race even if it means paying a hefty supplemental fee.
Those decisions will be played over the next few weeks. T Kraft, taking advantage of a poor start from the other speed in the race, won the Vosburgh by a nose over the late-running Crazy Mason.
Einsidler said he would only want to send T Kraft to the Breeders’ Cup if he was 100 percent right. T Kraft, who earned a 100 Beyer Speed Figure, is trained by Bill Mott.
“I’m not the kind of person that feels like we have to go,” Einsidler said. “If the horse is doing great, it’s a free trip, you go. If he’s not 100 percent, we’ll wait and come up with another race. If the horse is doing great, we’ll be there; if he’s 99 percent we won’t be there.”

It would cost the connections of Crazy Mason $100,000 to supplement to the Breeders’ Cup to become eligible for the $2 million Breeders’ Cup Sprint. Trainer Gregg Sacco is hopeful owners Dean and Patti Reeves and Donna and Phil Wright are game to give it a try.
“I’m going to make a big push to go to the Sprint,” Sacco said. “I thought he ran phenomenal. I think we’re improving at the right time. I would love to try it, personally.”
Sacco noted that Crazy Mason has a good race at Keeneland - site of the Breeders’ Cup - having finished second in April’s Grade 3 Commonwealth, his first race off a five-month layoff. Crazy Mason has not won since taking the Grade 2 Carter in April 2025, the last of what was a three-race winning streak.
Sacco also believes there’ll be plenty of pace in the Sprint, a race that is expected to be led by the freakishly fast 3-year-old Englishman.
Sacco said Crazy Mason came out of the Vosburgh in good shape and shipped back to his Delaware Park base Thursday night.
